That's the problem: protecting and saving lives is a wonderful thing but there are two points to be made:
1. If that's necessary then someone else started attacking. I never said anything against soldiers or veterans, just against the people who direct(ed) them.
2. Protecting and saving is often the name given to a military action aimed at keeping people under "our" way of life.
examples are (it had to come) Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq (Hussein was started by the western powers) and hundreds more.
Even the Balkan problems were caused by "us" in this case the victors(?) of WW 1 who divided up the area without considering what was good for the people who live there.

I always have problems believing in a "Just Cause" without thinking - from who's point of view?

The military alone has no justification, only when power politics is also in there mixing, that's my point, and they don't start wars for me or anyone else at my level.

Please believe in whatever you want but don't think it's the only interpretation, I don't.

By the way, I'm from Cheadle Hulme, greater Manchester! Notlob was a bike ride away when I was a kid!!!!
And I don't support any soccer team.

See ya
Bob
